I am an Assistant Professor in the Writing, Rhetoric & American Cultures department at Michigan State University. I teach in the Professional Writing and First-Year Writing Programs. I received my PhD in Cultural Rhetorics from MSU, and hold a master’s degree in Digital Rhetoric & Professional Writing.
In 2016, I received the CCCC Gloria Anzaldúa Rhetorician Award for my work on queer multimodal research methods. I continue to work on my documentary series, The Gender Project, which explores the ways queer people compose gender, gender identity, and sexuality in their everyday lives.
